Peter Gray 

Thought to be Keyworth CC’s oldest player still living - 96 in September.

H G 'Peter' Gray, born 16 September 1921 was presented with a Keyworth CC ‘Tie’ by Club President, Barry Baker during an afternoon of reunion with many former KCC players on Saturday 10 June 2017 at the Platt Lane ground. Teas for the players were prepared and served by the widow and daughters of Eric Watson, another long serving player, he passed away last season.

A hard hitting batsman, Peter played for KCC either side of World War Two where he served in the Royal Navy and subsequently served on the club committee and has been a Vice president since 1971.

A long serving Secretary of Stanton on the Wolds Golf Club, Peter was one of the best footballers in Nottinghamshire during the late 1940s/early 1950s starring in the Keyworth United FC team that dominated local League & Cup competitions and was a renowned penalty and free kick expert.

Keyworth CC honoured during the day, many other former players whom had made more than 100 appearances for the club.
